Has anybody heard anything about a debate in Leominster for the contested city council races?
I would love to see a debate between the At-Large hopefuls including Melissa Maguire and I’d be interested in seeing a debate between Kryssi Benson and Wayne Nickel.
I haven’t heard much about Kryssi Benson recently and haven’t read much about her in the paper. I’m rather surprised about that. I would think she would be out there trying to make a name for herself. She has a tough race ahead of her. Wayne Nickel has a lot of support in Leominster (not from me mind you…)
Let’s see some good old-fashioned mud slinging. Did you inhale Kryssi?

In an effort to keep the people of Leominster up to date on the candidates for city council, I will be compiling a list of the candidates websites so you can view them and gain more of an insight into their views on the important issues and you can just learn more about them in general.
Kryssi Benson – Ward 2 hopeful running against incumbent Wanyne Nickel
Kryssi Benson’s MySpace Page
Kryssi Benson’s Blog
The Flamingo Project
Melissa Maguire – At Large Hopeful running against incumbents Virginia Tocci, James Lanciani, Dennis Rosa, and John Dombrowski
Melissa Maguire’s Website
If you know the address of any of the other candidates websites please post a comment so I can keep the list updated. My guess is that since most ward councilors are running unopposed they aren’t going to spend much time on their campaign.

I’d like to invite all Leominster City Council hopefuls to please come to The Real Leominster Blog and tell us why the people of Leominster should vote for them.
I know that Kryssi Benson has been here and I appreciate that. Kryssi has a blog that you should check out although I’d love to see her updating it regularly. I’d like to know more about her ideas on how to shorten the permitting process for small businesses. This is a real problem in Leominster and one that needs attention like yesterday. I’d like to know more about the Flamingo Project too…
And Melissa Maguire? Melissa is running for an At-Large seat so she has a whole city to convince she is ready for the job…What does Melissa bring to the table? How does Melissa feel about mixed use zoning and what does she think about the thousands of residential homes either approved or in the approval process here in Leominster?
I’d invite any and all Council hopefuls to send me an email introducing yourself and explaining why we should vote for you. I’ll post the emails I receive and hopefully we can generate some intelligent conversation about the important issues facing the residents of Leominster and we can learn a little or maybe a lot about those running for City Council.
In the near future I will be extending the same invitation to those running for Mayor…I’m sure Dean Mazzarella wouldn’t mind sharing his thoughts on some of the issues (Right Mr. Mayor?). You never know when the ”Breakfast Sausage King” may decide to get his write-in campaign going.
