I received an email yesterday from a fellow blogger from the area welcoming me to the “blogosphere”. I guess I live in Bloginster, Blogachusetts within the blogosphere.
No Drumlins is blog that focuses on more regional interests although there are a fair amount of posts having to do with Leominster. Apparently Mr. Drumlin was a vocal opponent of the Wal-Mart project on Lancaster St and claims responsibility for getting New England Development to agree to build sidewalks along Lancaster St and Mill St.
Unfortunately it looks like they are trying to get out of building the sidewalks. As Mr. Drumlin put it, the shenanigans have started.
Me personally, I’m all for the development on Lancaster St. It’s a great use of the land and it’s in an area that won’t affect neighborhood traffic too much and Leominster can use the tax revenue. I know there are people that will bring up the added pressure on services like Police and DPW but all that is a post for another day.
Today we are here to discuss drumlins or the lack thereof.
I’ll let you go to No Drumlins if you want to know what a drumlin is and maybe he’ll gain a few new readers.
I expect a full report from each of you that goes and checks out his blog.
And please check out my post about the Pierce Pond Development in Leominster that we want stopped. We need to spread the word so Bovenzi won’t build houses on the shores of Pierce Pond.

I just found this site where people are posting comments about news and events in Leominster. There are discussions about politics, residential real estate developments, Pierce Pond, Whalom Park, and many many other topics. Here is the link.
Leominster Forums
It’s hosted by a service called ProBoards and it looks like the organizer or moderator is Keith Boisvert, a Leominster resident and somebody that has been frequenting this blog lately. He’s also involved with The Leominster Flamingo Company, a new recycling effort in Leominster and an organization that hopes to bring back the Pink Flamingos. He does a great job with the Forums and hopefully people continue to sign up and contribute to the discussion.
They like to tell it how it is and there is no real fear of censorship. I’m sure if there was something posted that was completely offensive or pornographic in nature it would be censored but from what I see that isn’t a problem and the discussions are intelligent and informative.
I’m anxious to participate in the discussions about the upcoming elections. There is a thread about Virginia Tocci that I found exceptionally interesting. In an earlier post I made a comment about Ginny not opening her mouth during the meetings and basically not contributing anything to the Circus Council. Apparently I’m not alone and there are others out there thinking the same thing.
I must say that the majority of the contributors to the Leominster Forum seem to be Anti-Mazzarella which is one area where I can see I will be on the opposing end of some discussions but I look forward to the healthy dialogue and debate.
I would highly reccomend you check out the Leominster Forum and get involved.

Who is the “Real” blog in Leominster?
In the short period this blog about Leominster has been active, I think we’ve done a pretty good job. One reader asked why thought we were the real official blog of Leominster. Regarding the title, it was sort of a play on words.
The name of the blog was meant to say that we would be writing about the “real Leominster” and writing about topics that people in Leominster want to read about. At the same time, we were giving a friendly jab to The Leominster Blog who claims to be the Official Blog of Leominster. I don’t mean to take anything away from The Leominster Blog. If they want to be the Official Blog of Leominster, I’ll go along with that. Maybe the writer over at The Leominster Blog will come over and write a guest post. There’s plenty of room for everyone.
I hope that clears things up for you Caroline. Please come back often and hopefully you will become a regular reader and contributor.
